Frequently asked

Common questions.

What's the difference between Indian and Italian marble?

Italian marbles like Calacatta and Statuario tend to feature dramatic veining on whiter backgrounds and command higher prices. Indian marbles (Makrana, Banswara, Onyx) are denser, more affordable and equally suited to floors, walls and facades.

Which Indian marble is closest to Calacatta?

Forest White (Rajasthan) and Bidasar share the dramatic vein-on-white look at a fraction of Italian prices. We stock both in 20 mm and 30 mm slabs.

How is marble shipped without damage?

Slabs travel in steel or wooden A-frames, edges taped, stretch-wrapped. Each container is cushioned to absorb sea-freight vibration. Insurance covers transit to your port in the USA, UAE or Russia.

Will marble stain on a kitchen counter?

Marble is porous and can etch under acid (vinegar, citrus). We recommend a penetrating sealant and annual re-seal. For heavy-use kitchens, honed finishes mask etching better than polished.

What thicknesses can you supply?

20 mm is standard for floors and walls; 30 mm for benchtops; 40–60 mm for steps and exterior cladding. Strip cutting to 10 mm is available for veneer projects.
